About
Filming in Paris
Meet the team

Filming in Paris  was founded by Jill Officer in 2014, in response to her clients needs to provide a personal and meticulous fixing service in Paris.

Year on year we have grown in strength and number so that today we have a full team who provide experienced local fixing and full production services across the whole of France, Monaco and French speaking Switzerland.

Working with clients across the globe who come to film in France, our expertise assists multi-genre films from prime time television and branded content, to documentary and feature films. You can check out our client list here.

Our dedicated team has helped produce dozens of international and award winning films and programmes each year. You can view these under Watch, or read our list of credits.

Meet the team
Jill Officer

Founder, Fixer & Field producer
Jill Officer has been working in Film, Television and Radio for over 20 years. Having graduated from the University of Warwick with a 1st class honours degree in English and French, Jill first moved to Paris in 2001 where she sought to carve out a career in Television.  During this time she trained as an Electronic Music Producer at the School of Audio Engineering in Paris, and worked for a French documentary company as Researcher and then as an AD on socio-historical documentaries.

Jill went on to obtain an MA in Film and Television Production specialising in Producing, Directing and Design before going to to work across the crafts in Television and Radio Production in the UK: Gallery Runner, Production Assistant, Audio Assistant, Locations Assistant, Assistant Producer, Producer, Production Coordinator, and Production Manager, including time at the BBC Natural History unit where Jill received further training in Production Management at the BBC.

Jill's experience to date is mutli-genre, from Live TV, and reality television, to sports, news, radio, corporate, Prime Time Ents, factual programming, Natural History and feature films.

This thorough "on the ground" training means that today Jill benefits from first-hand understanding of each of the crafts; camera, lighting, sound, directing, design and producing.

Great fixing means understanding the pressures each department faces and helping alleviate those at the right time to keep the shoot going smoothly and maintain positive team energy. It also means having an  understanding of the
technical issues when filming and an unfazed notion of "last-minute"!

What makes Jill tick is problem solving and logistics planning as well as the joy of researching stories, and the challenges of finding the right contributor and perfect location.

Maureen

Production & Location Manager

Maureen (or Magic Maureen as we like to call her), is our special production weapon. We like to deploy her on as many shoots as possible for her sheer tenacity and outright determination to the cause of production excellency.

Her unique skill set it getting stuff done, no matter what.  This makes her Jill's perfect right hand.

In fact, so adept is Maureen at making the impossible happen that we have a special term for this at FiP : "doing a Maureen".

With over twelve year's experience in international feature Film and Television as both 1st AD, Production Manager, Production Assistant, Production Coordinator there isn't much Maureen doesn't know about production both on set and in the office.

You will often find her whipping someone into action, wrangling her way through impossible layers of French admin, and always glued to her phone or walkie, on a permanent two-way connection with Jill, whether in person or telepathically!   Teamwork is all about symbiosis and thanks to their strong working relationship over the past ten years, Jill and Maureen are a formidable force to be reckoned with whether on-set or behind the scenes: they instinctively know what needs to be done, when and get on with it.

There is little that phases Maureen, and "no" is simply not in her vocabulary, unless it's her giving the orders!

Alex

Production & Tech Assistant
Literally the driving force behind our shoots, Alex gets us from A to B and then some!  Armed with his French charm and outstanding driving skills, Alex has played a key role in solving unexpected production and transport problems over the years!

In fact transport challenges are his speciality whether it's manoeuvring the gear van through a 20 point turn on a road smaller than your arm and surrounded by water, bombing up a fallow mountain pass in a 4x4, convincing the locals to comply with our requests, or taking us on one of our many (many) road trips, Alex's driving prowess and technical know-how has earned him a place at the core of our team.

Calm, unfazed and ready for anything, he's absolutely the one to have by your side on any filming roadtrip.

When he's not carving through the Parisian traffic, he's often found assisting with our various production challenges, whether it's sourcing last minute gear, taking care of contributors and talent needs on-set, or problem solving.

Also a dab hand with film gear and a set of tools, Alex is often found in the back of the production van assisting with load in and load out, or on set getting lights, cameras, cranes and drones all camera ready.

Anne-lise

Head of Translation &
Production Coordinator
Anne-Lise is a fully qualified translator with over 20 years professional practice.  Her experience in translation for Film and Television, whether it's on and off camera, make her a sterling asset to our team.

Anne-lise has translated on location right  across France from Limoges to Paris, to Strasbourg and beyond.

Completely and unfalteringly fluent in both languages she excels at switching seamlessly from one to the other. Having lived immersively in both Uk and French cultures over the past 25 years Anne-Lise speaks better English than most English people!

Being a formidable Frenchie, Anne-lise is a whizz at everything French administration, and therefore makes the perfect Production Coordinator, unfazed by her compatriot's bureaucratic tendencies.

Ismael

Operator &
AC extraordinaire
No high-end shoot would be complete without Ismael on-set.

His encylopedic camera and lens knowledge only rivals his swift lens wrangling and focus pulling skill.

At ease behind most cameras, Ismael also operates, and is just the person you want by your side during any technical hiccup: always quick to find a solution, screwdriver armed at the ready and with most of the tech gurus in Paris on speed dial, Ismael is also one of the most upbeat and chilled people you could ever have the pleasure of having on set.

Kamel

Sound Recordist &
Drone Master
There isn't a thing Kamel doesn't know about sound, or filming. You know phone a friend? Right.

We're very lucky to call Kamel one of our core crew. Possibly France's most sought after Soundie, when Kamel isn't on set with us, he's globetrotting for France's prime time telly shows, or hunkered down in the studio in Paris on one of the country's many entertainment shows.

Not content with being Super Soundie, Kamel is also a formidable Drone Operator, and comes complete with his own range of drones, lenses, civil aviation permits, knowledge and drone-warrior attitude.

Cécile

Gaffer
Lighting up our sets and our world, Mademoiselle Cécile, adored by the many, and revered by DoPs from far and wide, is our pint-sized rocket and secret weapon.

She might be petite in size, but boy is she mighty in talent.  (NB Don't cross her before she's had her morning tea!). We deploy her for our best clients and they are always reassured by her pragmatic approach and unyielding determination.

Normally seen hauling inhuman amounts of gear up random Parisian staircases, she is either to be found wielding the helm of her trusty Magliner, hanging off a pole, or hidden up high rigging lights to the ceiling.

Flooding our locations with her Jokers and smile, we just wouldn't light a set without her.

Susie

Project Manager and Executive Asst.

When it all gets hectic, whether on location or in the office, Susie is the glue to our team keeping everyone on the right track.

Whether it's assisting with bookings, looking after our clients admin needs or seamlessly managing multiple projects so that we keep all our plates spinning successfully, Susie's calm and collected organisational skills make her the perfect team member.

Whether it's finding an obscur piece of kit, a random object or piece of furniture, a classic car, a sudden extra crew member. You never know what production feat we will have to pull off but whatever the challenge Susie has our backs!
