COVID-19 Guidelines in France
Filming is allowed in France during the Pandemic.

The advised guidelines according to the French Cinema and film production Health and Safety board are that social distancing should be respected at a minimum of 1m but we like to practice a minimum of 1.5m and 2m ideally distance between crew members and contribs.

There is a mandatory mask mandate across most of France.  Crew should ideally wear N95 (FFP2) masks on location but surgical masks are tolerated. Talent/Contribs may remove if at a safe distance from crew during takes and replace in between takes. Gloves are not advised to be worn on a general basis since hand cleansing is more effective and spreads less germs. Gloves should be worn handling contaminated goods or cleaning surfaces.

Testing: PCR and Antigen
PCR and Antigen testing are widely available across the whole of France

PCR testing is free to French citizens and widely available for self-booking on doctolib.fr or find your nearest testing centre on sante.fr.

Many testing centres operate on the basis of being able to"turn up" without appointment. Results are often sent by text, and email within 12-24H. You can find the full list of testing and vaccination centres on Sante.fr

Antigen testing is available in most towns in urban areas, in Pharmacies and the results are available within 20 minutes. These are referred to as "Antigenic" tests in French but correspond to Lateral Flow in the UK.

Home testing kits have just become available and cost around 28€-30€ for 5 tests, available to purchase in pharmacies. These are not sufficient for travel abroad, and PCR is always recommended for higher accuracy in any situation.

Antibody blood tests are also available in France to test if you have made antibodies to COVID-19.  These must be arranged by prescription at a French laboratory.

Please note It is impossible for an employer to force an employee to submit to PCR testing. Screening campaigns organised by companies for their employees are not permitted.

Employees are free to choose to communicate, or not, the state of their health to any employer but since they must agree to carry out their obligations to implement all methods available to preserve their own and others’ health and safety, in this way employees must inform their employer if they suspect they have been in contact with the virus.
